It demonstrates >280-fold higher selectivity for the sst4 receptor compared to other somatostatin receptors, facilitating AMPA-mediated hippocampal synaptic responses in vitro and increasing kainate-induced seizures in mice. The compound has a diamine moiety and does not inhibit the secretion of growth hormone, insulin, or glucagon.
